I am a Florida-licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
My bachelor's degree in education and my master's degree in counseling are both from the University of South Florida (USF). Post-master's work at USF includes a graduate certificate in play therapy, as well as training in family mediation and parent coordination from the USF Conflict Resolution Collaborative.
My recent trainings and certifications include Gottman Couples Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is effective for the treatment of trauma in adults and children.
I have presented workshops at the Florida Counseling Association and Florida School Counselor Association's annual conferences. I have been invited as a guest speaker for counseling classes at the University of South Florida and Argosy University. I have also presented talks on topics of interest to other counselors, educators and parents.
I opened my private practice in the south Tampa area in July 2008. I also have 10 years of experience as a school counselor.
